Sue was born August 20, 1930, in Dawson, Texas, to Walter Lee and Candis Wood Bratcher. She lived in the Mexia area most of her life. Early on, Sue began her career as a beautician in Mexia, then she went to work as Activity Coordinator at the Mexia State School, where she retired after many years of service. However, retirement wasn’t for her, so she began managing apartments and thoroughly enjoyed it. She like to keep busy and she liked being among people.
Sue was a loving and devoted mother of three girls, grandmother of nine grandchildren and great grandmother of 14 great grandchildren; her family was her life. Her goal in life was to be faithful to God, love and provide for her daughters and spoil her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sue will also be remembered as having an outgoing personality, always smiling and friendly to everyone she met and ready to play a game of 42 at any time. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sue is survived by three loving daughters, Donna Leach and husband, Rex of McAllen, Patty Cooper and husband, Terry of Spring Branch and Vicki West and husband, Corey of Dallas; grandchildren, Candis Gould and husband, Craig of CT, Christie Grisham and husband, Wes of Austin, Angel Mitchell and husband, Shaun of San Antonio, Jacob Cooper of Houston, Brittany Jackson and husband, Keith of Groesbeck, Charles Estes of Dallas, Jade Ford of Dallas, Katie McCormick and husband, Marlon of Austin and Sarah Dupree and husband, Patrick of Dallas; and 14 great grandchildren.
