Mrs. Margaret Eddings of Wortham passed away on June 29, 2018. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Corley-Porter Chapel Wortham with Jan and Susan Pate officiating. Interment was at the Wortham Cemetery. Visitation was Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
Margaret was born December 1, 1923, in Bardwell, Texas, to James Elgin and Mary Irene McLelland. She married Homer Collins Eddings and the two of them shared 76 years of marriage. They were avid travelers having visited all 50 states and Canada and Mexico. Margaret was known for tending her yard and her flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially outdoors teaching them to swim and fish.
Among Margaret’s family are her husband, Homer Collins Eddings; son, Gerald Ray Eddings and his children, Zachary, Molly and Jacob; son, Joe Eddings and wife, Kim, and their daughter, JoBeth; daughter, Linda Spurgeon and her daughters, Sissy Williams, and Marianne Walker and husband, Keith, and granddaughter, Savannah Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Zachary Eddings, Jacob Eddings, Fred Grimes, Richard Johnson, Anthony Blacksher and David Bright.
