Jerline Robinson Holmes was born Dec. 29, 1929, to the parentage of the late Wilborn and Mollie Robinson, in Limestone County.
Jerline attended Coolidge Public School until she graduated in 1943.
She joined the church at an early age under the leadership of the Rev. O.C. Mack and Elder L.C. Coleman.
In 1955 she met the love of her life, Mr. S.H. Holmes. They joined hands in holy matrimony for 63 years. They were side by side until her passing.
Mrs. Holmes was a housewife and a house sitter for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Everyone loved her.
Mrs. Holmes departed her home here on earth, Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Providence Health Center, in Waco.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Layfette Robinson Sr., L.W. Robinson Sr. (Teat); sisters, Corline Hollings (Heavy) and Catherine Collins, and one great-great-grandson, Demarcus Robinson.
Those who will carry and cherish her sweet memories are her husband, S.H. Holmes; daughters Gloria D. Levingston (J.L.), Raynelda Anderson; adopted daughter, Jackie Craig; granddaughters Samantha West (Roy), Beverly J. Ross, Rita Anderson and Marvin Anderson; great-great-grandchildren, Tyrunzia Levingston, Tiara Ross, Tyshelby Hollie, Tyrone Freeman Jr., Yazmihn West and Tre Craig; great-great-grandchildren, Undreas Luna, Harmoney Brooks and Carter Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Service and arrangements entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home, of Mexia. The service was held on Jan 13 at 11 a.m., at Haynes C.O.G.I.C in Mexia.
