Loyd L. McDaniel Jr.

Loyd L. McDaniel Jr. was born on June 27, 1932 in Freestone County to the parentage of Loyd Lee McDaniel and Lorine Johnson McDaniel. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at Lakeshore Village Nursing Facility in Waco, with his wife by his side.
Loyd accepted Christ as his Lord and savior. He began working at an early age for A&P Grocery in Mexia. He later began a career as crane operator for Smith Building Co. in Waco. He held that position for 28 years and later went to work for Wales Industrial for 12 years where he retired in 1998. During his life Loyd was a master at his craft, he was the first black crane operator in Waco. His skills took him to different parts of the state of Texas to operate his crane.
In his spare time Loyd loved taking care of the horses and cows. Loyd married Lillian on Feb. 10, 1978 in Falls County. Their beloved union was filled with many memories. They were quite the team and devoted to each other.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd L McDaniel and Lorine McDaniel, one sister Dorothy Lee Wicker and three brothers, Uralee McDaniel, Albert McDaniel and Eddie Ray McDaniel.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Lillian L. McDaniel (Nell), his four step children, Thomas McDaniel (Voncille) of San Bernardino, Calif., Shirron Givens of Lewisville, Diedra Harris of Waco and Derrick McDaniel (Nitoshia) of Waco. Three brothers, J.C. McDaniel, D. L. McDaniel (Irma), Garland McDaniel (Annie) of Ft. Worth. Three sisters, Ruby Mae Williams (Alex), Doris Ann Smith (Walter), and Jeanette Madkin of Ft. Worth. Devoted nieces, nephews: and a host of loving relatives and friends.   
Funeral services for McDaniel, Jr. will be held at 11 a.m., May 6 at Greater Haynes Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Service and arrangements entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia.
